Cameroon have won the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) after defeating Malawi 3-0 in the final.
The Indomitable Lionesses took control of the match in the first half, scoring three goals before the break to establish a comfortable lead.
M. Ngah opened the scoring in the 21st minute before N. L. N. Eto doubled Cameroon’s advantage eight minutes later.
Ngah completed her brace in first-half stoppage time, giving Cameroon a 3-0 lead going into the interval.
Malawi returned for the second half hoping to reduce the deficit, but Cameroon remained organised and successfully protected their advantage until the final whistle.
The result confirmed Cameroon as the new WAFCON champions following a dominant performance in the final.
Ngah was the standout player of the match after finding the net twice, while Eto also played a key role with her goal.
Cameroon’s 3-0 triumph over Malawi brings their WAFCON campaign to a memorable conclusion, with the Indomitable Lionesses finishing the tournament as African champions.
