GOtv Announces End Of Complimentary Streaming Service From October 31

GOtv subscribers have received a fresh announcement informing them that the platform’s complimentary streaming service, GOtv Stream, will end on October 31, 2026.

The notice is currently being displayed on subscribers’ television screens under the GOtv message section.

According to the announcement, the change will affect the complimentary streaming service only, while subscribers’ regular GOtv packages and decoder services will continue.

GOtv Stream To End October 31

The message sent to subscribers reads:

“GOtv Stream, your complimentary streaming service, will end on 31 October 2026. Your GOtv subscription, package and decoder service will not be affected. No action is required. Visit your local GOtv website for more info.”

The notice does not ask subscribers to make any changes to their existing subscriptions or decoder.

It also makes clear that the regular GOtv service will not be affected by the discontinuation of the complimentary streaming service.

GOtv’s Nigerian website currently continues to promote GOtv Stream alongside its regular decoder packages.

Announcement Comes After Signal Complaints

The latest message comes a day after some GOtv subscribers complained about signal problems.

Several customers reported seeing the “Searching for Signal” message on their television screens, with some saying they were unable to watch their favourite programmes.

The disruption also affected some viewers who were following the ongoing Big Brother Naija Season 11 show.

GOtv’s support information says signal-related problems can sometimes be linked to issues with signal strength, quality or installation, and advises customers to check their decoder’s tuner status.

However, there is no indication in the latest GOtv announcement that the previous day’s signal problems were connected to the decision to end GOtv Stream.

Regular GOtv Subscription Not Affected

For subscribers concerned about the latest message, GOtv specifically stated that their existing subscription, package and decoder service would not be affected.

This means customers who use the normal GOtv decoder service will not be required to take any action because of the announcement.

GOtv currently offers packages including Supa+, Supa, Max, Jolli, Jinja and Smallie in Nigeria.

The company also provides customer support through its MyGOtv app, online chat, USSD service and email.

No Action Required From Subscribers

The message displayed on subscribers’ screens specifically states that no action is required.

GOtv users who want further information about the change have been directed to their local GOtv website.

The complimentary GOtv Stream service is therefore scheduled to end on October 31, 2026, while the company’s regular decoder-based subscription services are expected to continue.
