GOtv Subscribers Fume As Signal Disappears

GOtv subscribers in different locations have taken to social media to complain about difficulties accessing the television service on Monday.

Some customers reported that their decoders were displaying the “Searching for Signal” message, leaving them unable to watch their preferred channels.

The complaints came at a particularly frustrating time for some subscribers, with fans of the ongoing BBNaija Season 11 ‘Show Ya Sef’ reality show reportedly affected.

GOtv Signal Problem Sparks Complaints

Several subscribers complained about the situation online, with some saying they had been unable to access their channels despite having active subscriptions.

The “Searching for Signal” message is associated with signal-related problems on GOtv. The company’s support information advises customers experiencing signal issues to check their signal strength and quality and, where necessary, seek further assistance.

As of the time of filing this report, however, there was no clear public explanation from GOtv confirming the cause of the latest disruption.

Ibadan Resident Laments Missed BBNaija Moment

A resident of Ibadan, David Olayiwola, was among those affected by the problem.

Olayiwola lamented that the disruption prevented him from properly following the latest developments in the BBNaija house, including the Head of House proceedings.

According to him, the timing of the signal problem was particularly disappointing because he wanted to watch the programme and find out who emerged as the new Head of House.

Subscribers Wait For Restoration

The development has left some subscribers waiting for the service to return to normal.

While some signal problems can be caused by issues affecting a customer’s antenna, installation or signal strength, the number of complaints online has raised questions among affected subscribers about whether the problem is more widespread.

GOtv’s official customer support channels include its online chat and email support, while subscribers can also use the MyGOtv app and USSD service for account-related assistance.

As of the time of this report, the affected subscribers said the signal had yet to be restored.

Freshnews.ng will continue to monitor the situation and update this report if GOtv provides an explanation for the disruption.
