Presidential aide Daniel Bwala has taken a swipe at Peter Obi and Channels Television anchor Seun Okinbaloye following the former Labour Party presidential candidate’s appearance on Sunday Politics.
Obi, who is now the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), featured on the programme on Sunday, where he spoke on the country’s political situation and the 2027 presidential election.
Reacting shortly after the interview, Bwala criticised both the interviewer and Obi in a post on his verified X account.
The presidential aide described Okinbaloye as a “massage therapist,” accusing him of lacking toughness and failing to ask engaging questions during the interview.
“Again as predictable, the interviewer with double standard turned up as a massage therapist, no balls, no grit, no creativity, no data, and no click bait,” Bwala wrote.
He also dismissed Obi’s performance, saying the interview lacked substance and insisting that no amount of media promotion could improve the opposition candidate’s political fortunes.
“Yet the interviewee sounded boring with no substance. A thousand media surrogates cannot market him. If e didn’t Dey e didn’t Dey,” he added.
Bwala’s comments come just days after his own appearance on Politics Today on Channels Television, where he had a tense exchange with Seun Okinbaloye.
During that interview, Bwala accused the presenter of repeatedly referring to his past criticism of President Bola Tinubu before he later joined the administration as a presidential aide.
