Peter Obi Reacts To Politicians Who Constantly Attack Him On TV (Video)

Former Labour Party presidential candidate and 2027 National Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential flagbearer, Peter Obi, says he is not bothered by politicians who constantly mention or criticise him during television appearances, insisting that the country’s challenges should remain the focus of public discussions.

Obi made the remark on Sunday during an interview on Sunday Politics, a Channels Television programme anchored by Seun Okinbaloye.

During the interview, Okinbaloye asked Obi how he feels whenever politicians appear on his programme and repeatedly mention his name instead of discussing national issues.

Responding, Obi said personal attacks do not affect him because they distract from conversations that should centre on solving Nigeria’s problems.

“Calling me names doesn’t make me feel anything. They are abandoning the issues we are supposed to discuss and discussing what I think is irrelevant,” Obi said.

He added that many political discussions have shifted away from addressing the country’s economic and security challenges to focusing on personalities.

The former Anambra State governor added that we should rather be talking about poverty, out-of-school children, healthcare and all these monies that are missing here and there that should have been invested properly.

“Instead of discussing the problems of the country, people come before you to discuss Peter Obi,” he said.

Obi, who is the NDC’s presidential candidate for the 2027 election, has consistently called for issue-based politics and urged political leaders to focus on policies that will improve the lives of Nigerians rather than engaging in personal attacks.
