The Senate of Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), Anyigba, has approved the withdrawal of 27 students from the institution over poor academic performance and failure to register for two consecutive semesters.
The decision was reached during the university’s 166th Regular Senate Meeting held on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, after members considered the report of the Results Verification Committee.
According to the university, the committee reviewed the academic records of students across different faculties and departments before recommending the withdrawal of those who failed to meet the institution’s academic requirements.
The affected students are from the Faculties of Arts and Humanities, Education, Management Sciences, Social Sciences, and Medicine and Surgery.

Speaking after the Senate meeting, the Vice-Chancellor and Chairman of Senate, Prof. Salisu Ogbo Usman, commended members of the Results Verification Committee for what he described as their diligence, objectivity and commitment to maintaining the university’s academic standards.
He reiterated the institution’s resolve to uphold academic excellence, discipline and quality assurance, stressing that while the university would continue to provide a conducive learning environment, students must remain committed to their studies and comply with existing academic regulations.
The Vice-Chancellor also urged continuing students to stay focused, make good use of the opportunities available to them and strive for excellence in both learning and character.
Meanwhile, the affected students have been directed to return all university property in their possession, including identity cards and other official materials, to the university’s security unit before leaving the institution.
