Lagos State lawmaker and Nollywood actor Desmond Elliot has attracted attention online after appearing on the set of a new film production, weeks after losing the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Photos and videos shared on social media showed the Surulere Constituency I representative filming scenes alongside actor Ibrahim Chatta, prompting discussions among fans about a possible return to acting.
The appearance comes after Elliot was unsuccessful in his bid to secure the APC ticket for another term in the Lagos State House of Assembly.

During the party’s primary election, former Lagos State Special Adviser on Housing, Barakat Odunuga-Bakare, emerged as the APC candidate for Surulere Constituency I, ending Elliot’s attempt to seek a fourth consecutive term in the Assembly.
Fans React to Movie Set Appearance
Elliot’s presence on the movie set has generated reactions from supporters and movie enthusiasts, many of whom remember his extensive career in Nigeria’s film industry before he entered politics.
Before his election into the Lagos State House of Assembly in 2015, Elliot was widely known for his work as an actor, producer and filmmaker, featuring in numerous Nollywood productions over the years.
