BEDC Employee Dies After Electrical Incident During Repair Work In Ado Ekiti (Video)

A staff member of the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) has died after an electrical incident occurred while he was carrying out maintenance work on a power line in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital.

The incident happened on Saturday, August 1, near the Federal Polytechnic Satellite Campus, where the employee was reportedly part of a team working to restore electricity supply following a power outage in the area.

According to report, the technician was working on an electricity pole when he suddenly became unresponsive, prompting concerns that he had suffered an electric shock.

Residents and passersby reportedly alerted emergency responders as the situation unfolded.

The worker’s colleagues immediately began rescue efforts before personnel of the Ekiti State Fire and Emergency Service arrived at the scene to assist in bringing him down safely from the pole.

He was later transported to a nearby hospital for urgent medical treatment.

Despite efforts by medical personnel, the employee was later confirmed dead while receiving treatment.
