A video showing former Kogi West Senator Dino Melaye, Seyi Tinubu, former First Lady Aisha Buhari and other prominent Nigerians enjoying a gathering in Spain has set the social media buzzing.
The personalities were reportedly spotted at a welcome party in Marbella, Málaga, ahead of the wedding celebration of Saraya and Bawa.
The event was held at La Cabane, a Dolce & Gabbana venue in Málaga, with several well-known Nigerians among the guests.
A video from the gathering showed Aisha Buhari and other guests in a relaxed mood, while Dino Melaye, Seyi Tinubu, media personality Ben Murray-Bruce and socialite Terry Waya were also among those identified in reports about the event.
Watch the video below;
The appearance of Melaye alongside Seyi Tinubu has particularly attracted attention because of the former senator’s well-known opposition to the Bola Tinubu administration.
Melaye is currently a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), one of the opposition parties preparing for the 2027 elections.
In August, he said opposition parties were working towards coming together to challenge Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 election.
He had also criticised Tinubu on several occasions, including in June when he called on the President to resign over what he described as the failure of the administration to adequately address insecurity and economic hardship.
Despite those political differences, Melaye was seen in the same social gathering with Seyi Tinubu, the President’s son, in Spain.
The footage has therefore generated discussion online, with some Nigerians focusing on the unusual mix of political figures and personalities at the event.
However, there is no indication from the video itself that Melaye’s political position has changed or that his presence at the event represents any political alliance with Seyi Tinubu or the APC.
The gathering also comes shortly after Aisha Buhari met former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, the ADC’s presidential candidate for the 2027 election.
Atiku shared photographs of the meeting on September 17 and described the visit by the former First Lady as “warm and deeply appreciated.”
The Spain gathering, meanwhile, appears to have been a private social event rather than a political function.
