The family of late Yoruba actor and filmmaker Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has welcomed a new baby just days after the veteran entertainer passed away.
Ogogo’s daughter, Kira Taiwo, reportedly gave birth to a baby boy two days after the death of her father, creating an emotional moment for the family as they continue to mourn their loss.
The arrival of the newborn has brought a mixture of grief and happiness to the family, with relatives and friends celebrating the new addition while still coming to terms with Ogogo’s death.

Ogogo died at 66
Taiwo Hassan died on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at the age of 66 after a battle with cancer.
His daughter, Kira, confirmed his death in an emotional video shared on social media. The announcement came days after members of the family had publicly disclosed that the actor was battling stage-four cancer.
Before his death, Kira and her sister had appealed to medical professionals and hospitals for assistance with their father’s treatment.
Ogogo’s death has since generated an outpouring of tributes, particularly from the Yoruba film community, where he was regarded as one of the industry’s veteran figures.
A career spanning more than four decades
Born Taiwo Hassan in Ilaro, Ogun State, in 1959, Ogogo began his acting career in the early 1980s.
Before becoming a full-time actor, he trained and worked as an automobile mechanic and was also employed by the Lagos State Water Corporation.
He eventually left his government job in 1994 to concentrate fully on acting.
Over the years, Ogogo became a familiar face in Yoruba cinema, working as an actor, producer, director and screenwriter.
He featured in several popular productions, including Owo Blow, Omo Ghetto, Tenant of the House, Bank Alert and Aníkúlápó.
His appearance in Aníkúlápó also introduced his work to a younger generation of movie viewers and earned him a Best Supporting Actor nomination at the 2023 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards.

Against the backdrop of Ogogo’s death, the arrival of his grandson has provided the family with a reason to celebrate.
Kira’s delivery came only two days after her father’s passing, making the timing particularly emotional for the family.
