The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has recorded 29 births just two days into its 2026 Annual Convention, currently taking place at the Redemption City along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
General Overseer of the church, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, announced the development during the Tuesday night session of the convention, revealing that the babies were delivered between the opening day on Monday, August 3, and 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
According to Pastor Adeboye, the total number of newborns stood at 29, comprising 15 boys and 14 girls.
The announcement was met with excitement and loud applause from thousands of worshippers gathered at the convention ground.
The RCCG Annual Convention, one of the largest Christian gatherings in the world, attracts millions of worshippers from Nigeria and across the globe every year.
This year’s edition is themed “Mountain Movers” and officially began on Monday, August 3. The week-long programme is expected to continue until Sunday, August 9, with participants taking part in worship services, prayers, Bible teachings and other spiritual activities.
Over the years, the convention has become known not only for its massive attendance but also for the number of babies born during the event, with the church often providing medical support for expectant mothers at the convention ground.
The 2026 convention is expected to continue with more ministrations and activities in the coming days as worshippers seek spiritual renewal under the “Mountain Movers” theme.
