PFIPC Probe: New Revelations Emerge On ‘Fake DG’ Adeyemi’s Office

The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Esther Walson-Jack, has told the House of Representatives that there was no official allocation of office space to the controversial Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC).

She explained that available records showed the office occupied by the alleged agency was originally allocated to the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), not the PFIPC.

Walson-Jack made the clarification on Tuesday while appearing before the House of Representatives ad hoc committee investigating the PFIPC controversy and the N1.3 billion earmarked for the council in the 2026 Appropriation Act.

She, however, confirmed that the office linked to the PFIPC is located within the Federal Secretariat in Abuja.

The committee is probing how the alleged agency operated despite claims by the Presidency that it was never legally established.

The controversy began on June 11, 2026, when the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila, publicly disowned the PFIPC after Prince Adeyemi Matthew Adeniyi presented himself as its Director-General.

Gbajabiamila maintained that the council did not exist under the Tinubu administration and denied any involvement in Adeniyi’s appointment.

He further disclosed that he had petitioned security agencies in October 2025 after forged appointment letters linked to the agency surfaced.

Following investigations, Adeniyi was charged before the Federal High Court on allegations bordering on forgery, impersonation and obtaining by false pretence.

The embattled PFIPC boss, however, rejected the allegations, insisting he was innocent and ready to defend himself in court.

Although he was arrested and questioned in connection with the controversy, he was later released.

Amid growing public concern over the scandal, President Bola Tinubu directed that an independent investigation be conducted to uncover the circumstances surrounding the emergence and operations of the alleged agency.
