A Lagos-based businesswoman, Adekoya Ibukunoluwa, has instituted legal proceedings against Sandra Edoho, accusing her of defamation over Instagram posts that allegedly linked her romantically with broadcaster Frank Edoho.
In a memorandum of claim dated July 17, 2026, Adekoya is seeking ₦100 million in damages, claiming the publications damaged her reputation, subjected her to online harassment and negatively affected both her personal and business life.
The suit, prepared by Festus Ogun, Managing Partner of FOLEGAL, accuses Sandra, who is reportedly estranged from Frank Edoho, of libel, fraudulent misrepresentation and invasion of privacy. The claims centre on content allegedly published through the Instagram account, “vivibella_designs.”
The allegations contained in the legal filing have not been tested or determined by any court.
According to the court documents, the events leading to the dispute began in October 2023 when Adekoya, identified in parts of the memorandum as Monisola, allegedly met Frank Edoho by chance at Hard Rock Café in Lekki, Lagos. The pair reportedly bonded over their support for Arsenal Football Club before exchanging phone contacts.
The claimant further alleged that on November 19, 2023, Sandra unlawfully accessed Frank Edoho’s WhatsApp account and posed as the broadcaster to invite her to the couple’s residence in Victoria Garden City, Lagos.
Adekoya claimed she was promised ₦10 million and informed that she only needed to “honour the invitation.”
The legal documents also alleged that Sandra later impersonated Frank’s brother, picked up the entrepreneur and drove her to the residence.
According to the memorandum, Adekoya was allegedly confined inside a room after arriving at the house. The filing stated that Frank Edoho was asleep at the time and was later woken up. It further claimed that the broadcaster expressed surprise over the allegation that he was involved in an affair with Adekoya and apologised to her over the incident.
These claims remain allegations presented by the claimant and have not been established by a court.
The lawsuit further alleged that after the breakdown of Sandra and Frank Edoho’s marriage in May 2026, Sandra launched what the legal team described as a “calculated campaign” against the entrepreneur.
According to the claimant’s lawyers, the alleged campaign involved posting Adekoya’s photograph, private WhatsApp conversations and a video on Instagram while portraying her as one of several women said to have had relationships with the broadcaster.
One of the posts allegedly published by Sandra stated, “Or is it the smelling prostitute whom you led into our home? Where I had a video record you escorting her to the gate.”
The claimant’s legal team described the publication and similar posts as “blatantly false, mischievous and misleading.” They argued that the posts falsely portrayed Adekoya as a “prostitute, sex worker and a person of questionable character.”
Adekoya also claimed the publications were widely circulated across social media after being reposted by blogs and other online platforms, exposing her to cyberbullying, insults, harassment and public ridicule.
Her lawyers maintained that the publications amounted to an invasion of privacy and caused significant damage to her personal reputation and business interests.
As part of the suit, Adekoya is asking the court to declare that the Instagram post published on May 19, 2026, was false, malicious and defamatory. She is also seeking an order directing Sandra to remove the publications and issue a public, unconditional apology.
The claimant is further asking the court to restrain Sandra from making or publishing similar allegations in the future. In addition to the ₦100 million compensation claim, she is seeking the cost of the legal action.
The memorandum also proposed an out-of-court settlement. Under the suggested terms, Sandra would delete the disputed posts, publish a public apology, acknowledge the alleged impersonation of Frank Edoho and pay ₦20 million as compensation to Adekoya.
According to the legal team, Sandra has been given seven days to respond to the claims in line with Practice Direction No. 2 of the Lagos State High Court Civil Procedure Rules 2019. The lawyers warned that further legal steps would be taken if no response is received within the stipulated period.
