The Presidency has announced September 3, 2026, as the date for submitting the proposed State Police Executive Bill to President Bola Tinubu for consideration.
Chairman of the Presidential Working Group on the National Policing Bill, Femi Gbajabiamila, disclosed this after the committee’s inaugural meeting at the Presidential Villa, saying the legal framework would be completed within seven weeks.

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has appealed to President Bola Tinubu to act as a father figure by ensuring that the August 15 governorship election in the state is peaceful, free and credible.

- NEC approves fresh $4.5bn Gazelle financing
The National Economic Council has approved the refinancing of the $3.3 billion Project Gazelle Pre-Export Finance Facility through a new $4.5 billion arrangement known as Project Gazelle 2.
The approval will allow NNPC Limited to refinance the outstanding balance of the previous facility while unlocking an additional $3 billion to strengthen Nigeria’s external reserves.

The naira appreciated further on Monday, trading at N1,408 per dollar in the parallel market compared to N1,415 recorded over the weekend.
