The investigation into PFIPC Director-General Adeniyi Adeyemi has taken a new turn, with additional details emerging over allegations that the commission falsely operated as a Federal Government agency.
Sources familiar with the development said security operatives flew Adeyemi to Abuja aboard a private jet, where he is currently undergoing further interrogation.
The transfer to the Federal Capital Territory was reportedly part of a coordinated security operation aimed at advancing ongoing investigations into the commission’s activities.
Investigators are examining allegations that the organisation was unlawfully operated while allegedly portraying itself as an official Federal Government institution.
The probe is also focusing on the commission’s internal structure, mode of operation and the circumstances surrounding its establishment.
Security agencies are further investigating the commission’s funding sources, affiliations, operational activities and the identities of individuals who may have acted on its behalf or represented the organisation in various capacities.
Authorities are expected to determine the full extent of the commission’s operations, including whether individuals or organisations engaged with it under the belief that it was a legitimate government agency.
While security agencies have yet to reveal the complete scope of the investigation, the ongoing probe is expected to uncover additional details about the commission’s activities and any possible collaborators.
